Find the right file and get back to work

New features

• Search by filename. You can now find files by name even when you remember only part of the name or make a small spelling mistake. Matching text is highlighted in your results, making it easier to identify the file you need.
• Reconnect your mounted projects. Your mounted projects and folders reconnect when you reopen the desktop app. You can return to your work without setting up the same mounts each time.
• Reveal a file on your mounted drive. You can now use Open in Mount from a file or folder’s menu to reveal its location in Finder. When that location is already mounted, you can move straight from browsing in Aspect to working with the file in another app.

Improvements

• Smoother desktop updates. Your desktop updates download in the background, and Aspect lets you know when an update is ready. Your app download also includes fewer unnecessary files, reducing the amount you need to download.
• Quicker browsing of large mounted folders. You can now browse and add files in large mounted folders more quickly. Aspect does less repeated work when loading a folder, helping you move through libraries with many files.

Bug fixes

• More reliable saves from Premiere Pro. You can now save and replace Premiere Pro files on a mounted drive more reliably. Your file timestamps and rename sequences are handled more consistently, reducing cases where a save leaves the local file and its cloud copy out of sync.
• Mounted folders respect your access. Your mounted folders now apply your access permissions more consistently when you create, rename, or delete items. You can expect file operations in the drive to follow the access you have in Aspect.
• Shared previews keep the details they need. You can now view shared media with the frame rate and dimensions its preview needs, even when the share does not expose broader metadata. Your preview no longer loses those essential details because of the link’s metadata settings.
