Keep your local workflow moving
You can now tune how your mounted drive uses a slower connection and clear cached files while keeping pinned content available. More consistent name sorting and better handling of mounted reads make large libraries easier to work through, while review comments stay accessible during playback.
New features
- Adjust your mount for a slower connection. You can now turn on Slow connection mode in the desktop drive settings when background fetching makes your connection feel crowded. The drive fetches less content in advance and focuses on the files you actually request.
- Clear cached files without clearing your pins. You can now clear ordinary cached files from the desktop settings or choose how much cache to keep. Your pinned content and changes that have not yet synced are preserved, so freeing cache space does not undo those choices.
Improvements
- Read mounted files more efficiently. Your mounted drive does a better job of preparing the next data you are likely to read and coordinating requests. On macOS, it can also make fuller use of the file-transfer capacity requested by the client, helping sustained reads move with fewer unnecessary limits.
- Sort numbered names in a natural order. You can now see names such as “Clip 2” before “Clip 10” when sorting by name. The ordering is more consistent across server-backed listings, project lists, local drive listings, and the CLI.
Bug fixes
- Write comments while media keeps playing. You can now click into the comment editor and type while audio or video is playing. Playback no longer causes the editor to lose focus or become difficult to use.
- Avoid an invalid cache destination. When you move the desktop cache, Aspect prevents you from choosing a location inside its own filesystem storage folder. You get a clearer boundary for choosing a valid destination instead of creating a conflicting storage layout.
