Copy your work and follow every transfer

New features

• Copy files and folders where you need them. You can now use Copy To to duplicate selected files or folders, including into another project in the same workspace when you have access. You can choose whether to bring comments and metadata with the copy, giving you more control when reusing work for a new project.
• Follow uploads, downloads, and copies together. You can now track uploads, downloads, and copy jobs from the transfer center, then open an item for more detail. The iPhone app also brings these activities into one transfer view, so you can see what is still running and what has finished.
• Bring in Playbook and shared Frame.io libraries. You can now use Aspect’s migration tooling to import content from Playbook and Frame.io shares containing multiple assets. The import handling also recovers more reliably from Playbook throttling or outdated file sizes and detects incomplete Frame.io downloads.

Improvements

• Keep the versions that belong together. When you copy a version stack, you can now keep its versions together in the new location. The copy has its own identities, so you can work with the new stack independently from the original.
• Copy and paste with familiar shortcuts. You can now use Cmd+C and Cmd+V on Mac, or Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V on Windows, to copy selected Aspect items and paste them into another folder. A progress message lets you know the copy has started and how it is getting along.
• Choose a destination for moves and copies. You can now browse folders in the Move To and Copy To dialogs instead of relying only on drag and drop. On iPhone, you can use the same kind of destination picker to organize your files while away from your desk.
• Choose download versions for a selection. You can now choose supported download variants when working with multiple items, rather than handling every file separately. Progress messages give you clearer feedback as your bulk download starts.
• Keep links useful as versions change. You can now use a link to a version stack that opens its current top version when someone visits it, or link to a specific version when that is what you need to discuss. Your open viewer stays on the version you are reviewing instead of unexpectedly switching when someone adds another one.
• Recover large downloads in smaller pieces. Your desktop and CLI downloads can fetch parts of a file in parallel and retry an interrupted part on its own. This reduces how much work needs to be repeated when a connection briefly fails during a large download.
• Know when a download is ready. You can now see a completion message when your download finishes and use the available reveal action to find it. The wording matches the platform you are using, making the next step clearer.
• Get into desktop work sooner. Your desktop drive can become ready without waiting for all pin accounting and synchronization to finish. You also get clearer storage information and recovery actions when a pin needs more space, so you can resolve the issue from the app.

Bug fixes

• Play uncached videos correctly on Windows. Your mounted drive handles previously uncached reads correctly on Windows, fixing a file-sharing issue that could corrupt the data delivered to a video player. Background helper processes also stay hidden instead of opening extra command windows.
• Process more difficult media files. You can now get more dependable previews and playback from sources with unusual timing, very short duration, or rotated image frames. Audio waveform generation also avoids processing problems that could leave it stuck.
• Avoid interruptions in everyday browsing. You can now create folders without the selection error that could crash the page, and your file details can still load if a metadata field uses an unfamiliar type. On iPhone, copying a folder link and updating a progress message also work more reliably.
