See more of your library at a glance
You can now understand more about your files and folders without opening each item individually. New browsing details, comment filters, and keyboard selection controls make it easier to work through a busy library, while media processing covers more of your short clips.
New features
- Keep symbolic links in your workflow. You can now work with symbolic links created through your mounted drive and recognize them as linked items in Aspect. When a target is available and you have access, you can follow the link to its content; unavailable targets are identified in the viewer.
- Filter by comment count. You can now see how many comments an asset has and filter your library by that count. This gives you another way to find files with active feedback or identify items that have not received comments yet.
Improvements
- See folder size and duration while browsing. You can now show a folder’s total size and media duration in grid and list views. With those fields enabled, you can compare folders without opening each one to inspect its contents.
- Extend a selection with the keyboard. You can now hold Shift while using the arrow keys to extend your file selection. This makes it easier to select a run of neighboring items without repeatedly clicking each one.
- Use your preferred desktop theme. You can now use the desktop app with your preferred light, dark, or system appearance. Your desktop window follows the selected theme more consistently alongside the rest of the interface.
- Include very short clips in AI indexing. Your video and audio clips under one second can now be included in AI indexing. You can keep those brief moments in your searchable library instead of having them skipped solely because of their duration.
- Get timeline previews sooner. Your scrub previews are generated more efficiently, helping you start scanning through media sooner. The processing also handles more of the timing edge cases that previously made previews slow or unreliable.
Bug fixes
- More reliable transfers and speed limits. Your upload and download speed limits are applied more consistently, and transfer scheduling handles changing workloads more reliably. These fixes help your transfers keep moving while respecting the bandwidth you set aside for them.
- Consistent metadata on collection shares. You can now see the metadata fields allowed by a shared collection more consistently as you browse it. The fix keeps your shared view aligned with the collection’s configured metadata access.
- Play videos with unusual audio timestamps. You can now play previews of more videos with unusual audio timing. A problem with repeated audio timestamps no longer prevents those videos from being prepared for playback.
